One of only five finalists for Best Websites/Mobile Sites, Corporate Social Responsibility

Minneapolis, MN (April 5, 2022) Break Your Bias, an online experience that encourages people to dismantle their internal biases by challenging their mental models, has been nominated for Best Websites/Mobile Sites, Corporate Social Responsibility, in the 26th Annual Webby Awards. Fans can vote online to help secure the top honor: vote.webbyawards.com

Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet.

“Break Your Bias is a true labor of love for our team, one that underscores what it means to do meaningful work in this field. We’re excited for it to be seen on an international platform and for more people to have the opportunity to go through the experience as part of their personal commitments to anti-bias work,” said Peter Tressel, Preston Spire’s SVP, Creative Director.  “To be nominated alongside brands such as Patagonia and Chipotle is really remarkable and further proves how Good really does win.”

Created in collaboration with Minnesota’s YMCA of the North’s Equity Innovation Center, which focuses on providing solutions to disrupt long-standing social inequities and advance system changes through educational experiences, Break Your Bias engages users through virtual learning experiences that challenge their preconceived notions and unconsciously held beliefs.  The experience takes participants through a series of provocative questions before they are prompted to dive deeper into videos and actions that can be taken regardless of time: 1-minute, 5-minutes, or 10-minutes. The resources include everything from recommendations for bias-breaking books, podcasts, and films, to tips for having courageous conversations and thought-provoking videos of some of the 12 diverse and brave Minnesotans who put themselves into this project.

As a nominee, Break Your Bias is also eligible to win a Webby People’s Voice Award, which is voted online by fans across the globe. From now until April 21st, fans can cast their votes at vote.webby awards.com. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
