Keep the conversation going by voting for Make It OK – Websites, Activism

MakeItOK.org, a website developed by Preston Kelly for HealthPartners, is an official nominee for a Webby Award, the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet.

The Webbys are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS)—a 2000+ member judging body. The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award are presented in every category. IADAS selects the nominees in each category, as well as the Winners of The Webby Awards. In the spirit of the open Web, The Webby People’s Voice is awarded by the voting public.

MakeItOK.org, designed to combat mental illness stigma, is one of five nominees in the Activism category. To cast a People’s Voice vote for makeitok.org, click here. You can vote directly through either an active Facebook or email account. Please note, if voting through email, you will need to validate your address through a separate email confirmation. Voting is open through Thursday, April 20, at 11:59 PST and winners will be announced Tuesday, April 25.

“Mental illness still carries an enormous amount of stigma which prevents many of the one in five US adults experiencing these illnesses from seeking help,” said Preston Kelly VP/Digital Creative Director Peter Tressel. “The goal of the website is to combat that stigma by encouraging conversation about mental illness to create awareness and understanding. We know that when we talk about things, we make it okay.”
