Minneapolis, MN (November 18, 2021) – As the sole Minnesota-based agency to win, the “Good Wins” agency took home the award for Purpose-Driven Spot or Campaign at the 2021 Radio Mercury Awards, the only national competition exclusively devoted to radio and audio, announced on November 17.

Out of 149 finalists Preston Spire won for “Bingo Recovery” for Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling (MNAPG, formerly Northstar Problem Gambling Alliance). MNAPG is a non-profit, gambling-neutral organization dedicated to improving the lives of Minnesotans affected by problem gambling.

“Creating work that is welcome in people’s lives is at the core of what Preston Spire does and this winning spot does exactly that,” said Chris Preston, Chief Creative Officer. “‘Bingo Recovery’ delivers an important message in a creative way and receiving national recognition reinforces the importance of work that is thoughtful and welcoming in how it approaches audiences.”

‘Bingo Recovery’ was written by Aylâ Larsen and produced by Lisa Thotland. The Creative Directors were Chris Preston and Melissa Tresidder; the engineers were Tom Lecher and Chris Bartels. The spot aims to reach problem gamblers by speaking their language. By mixing the sounds of a bingo hall (a frequent haunt for problem gamblers), the spot tells a story of a problem gambler finding help and reclaiming their life through the assistance of MNAPG.
